The Spix is our new highly specified four seasons tent and designed for the extreme. The Spix uses the most advanced materials and components currently available. The Spix has been developed in cooperation with Jake Lah who is the founder of DAC. Its the first expedition tent in the world using DACs new 13.55 PL poles. Theyre 45% stiffer than 11mm poles but they weigh 7% LESS than those poles. Compared to the NSL 9.6mm, theyre just 1/3rd heavier but theyre 2X stronger and almost 3X stiffer. Another advantage of the PL pole is its extreme elasticity that gives it its unique property compared to „regular” aluminum poles. The poles flexing without breaking or even losing its straightness is unmatched.The use of the PL Poles in combination with the extremely light fabrics has resulted in a incredible end product. The tent will comfortably sleep three people. It has an unmatched weight, strength and space ration and a small pack size. The Spix can be used with a double pole set. The Spix also features GorLyn 40 . Nylon 6.6 40D with a high tear strength of +18kg. Instead of mesh we use the our new FabVue. FabVue is a new transparent breathable fabric that delivers an unparalleled combination of external views and excellent ventilation. The vestibule is spacious and has a front and side door with #10 zippers. The inner tent with offers loads of space for 3 people and their gear. The ventilation openings in the fly can be zipped open for extra ventilation or to easily scoop snow. All ventilation openings are fully closeable. The floor is made of 40D Nylon RS with a 10.000mm TPU laminate.
